This is me. I’ve been studying, researching, teaching, playing and writing about popular music for longer than I like to admit. I do other things too, but thinking about and engaging with popular music is my constant, as you will see when you explore the tabs above. My research specialism is music journalism, both past and present.
Recent publication
I like to use this central block to highlight my recent work. So at the moment I’ve chosen my French book chapter as worthy of this middle space. Notebook
Sometimes I just like to write about something because I can. I often stumble upon something associated with popular music which grabs my thoughts for a while, like the steps in the photo above which I encountered in Gijon, Spain. When this happens I occasionally jot down my musings on the blog page above. Randomness definitely rules.
